How did you hear about CrossFit and what made you try it?

I saw the CrossFit affiliate on my way home from work one day, so I did some research and found out it was a very intense workout and the workouts are never the same. Also a friend of mine on the fire department said she went and I saw the results she had.

What is it like to work out in a CrossFit affiliate box?

If there was one word to describe it, it would be Amazing! I cannot begin to describe the experience that I have had at CrossFit Chalmette. They give you great step-by-step instructions on the movements and skills needed to perform the WOD. Also, everyone is very helpful and friendly. Being at the Box is not just about getting fit, but you develop relationships and you become a family. I love CrossFit Chalmette.

What would you recommend to someone starting CrossFit?

Do not be intimidated by it! There are lower intensity and easier scaled options to take the place of the advanced movements. These options will later introduce you to the advanced movements. So to anyone starting CrossFit, don't be afraid, take your time and increase the intensity at your own pace.

What was your favorite Work Out of the Day so far? Your least favorite?

My favorite WOD so far is Annie. I love double unders and situps. The reason is because I love workouts that focus on your core. My least favorite WOD is Fran. I didn't care for Fran because all those thrusters are murder on the legs, though it is a still a good workout.

What is your favorite exercise? Your least favorite?

My favorite exercise is muscle ups on the rings because I feel it is one of the coolest exercises to do at the box. My least favorite is the wall ball clean because it is one aggravating set of movements.

What are your CrossFit goals for the future?

I plan on getting stronger and faster, enough to take me to the CrossFit Games one day. I plan on being one of the fittest men alive. I would also like to further prove that if anyone is looking to lose or gain weight, that it is possible but you just have to be willing to work for it.
